Common questions

What counts as a "player join"?

A player join is one person joining one game. The same person joining three of your games counts as three joins. Test plays and demo plays don't count — only real players you invite to real events.

When am I charged for extra players?

At the end of the month, never during an event. If more people join than your plan includes, the game keeps running exactly as normal — nobody is turned away and nothing is cut off mid-session. You'll see the extra on your next invoice at your plan's per-player rate.

Is the Free plan really free — and when should I use it?

Yes, free forever: 10 player-joins a month, no card required. It's the right choice for testing, for building a game before you pitch it, and for genuinely small groups — under about 25 players you'll pay less in overage than a month of Pro would cost. Above that, subscribing to Pro for the month of your event and cancelling afterwards works out cheaper: a 60-player event is $79 on Pro against $300 in Free overage. Either way, you pay nothing in the months when nothing happens.

What if my client's event is bigger than we planned?

Nothing breaks. Extra players join normally and you pay the per-extra rate at the end of the month — $2.00 on Pro, $0.50 on Studio. If you know in advance that the room will be large, moving up a plan for that month is usually cheaper than the overage.

Can I upgrade for one month and go back down?

Yes. Plans are monthly, so you can move up before a big event and back down afterwards. And a game that's already running keeps the features it was built with, so downgrading never strips white-labelling or a quest format out of a live client event.

What do I get on Studio that I don't get on Pro?

Two quest formats that aren't available anywhere else on the platform — Escape Room and Marker Hunt — plus photo-upload tasks, timed and grouped unlocks, and advanced analytics. Then the commercial side: full white-label with your client's branding rather than just your own logo, 500 included player-joins a month instead of 100, and a lower overage rate at $0.50 per extra player.

What does white-label mean?

White-label replaces all Quizpedition branding with your logo — or your client's — across the entire player experience, so the event looks like it was built by you. It's a Studio feature. Add a custom domain for $30/month and the game runs on your own web address too, with nothing pointing back to us.

What happens to my games if I downgrade or cancel?

Nothing that's already running stops working. Your challenges, quests and games stay in your account, and any higher-plan features a running game was built with keep working in that game for as long as it runs. Changing plan only affects what you can use in a new build, and how many player-joins are included.

If a payment fails rather than you deciding to change plan, that same protection holds for 30 days while you sort the card out. Custom domains keep working for 30 days on any path, so a client-branded link never dies in the middle of an event.

How many players can one game handle?

Up to 500 simultaneous players per event, load-tested and validated to 800 with zero errors. The included player-joins on your plan are a billing allowance, not a technical limit.
